Burgeoning Austin start-up is looking for an Online Community Manager to join their growing team. The Community Manager guides, develops and manages communities of interest that attract and encourage conversation about the companies products. This individual will refine and administer communications in social networking sites with an aim to determine the wants and needs of the internet community. Ideal candidates will posses the following attributes: - Degree in Computer Science or related field - Experience with online social networks - Familiarity with blogs and wikis - Knowledgeable background in Information Technology - Familiarity with Ruby on Rails - Product Marketing know-how - Passion for new content types: websites, blogs, podcasts, wikis, etc. - Experience building online interaction among a technical community around novel and complex technologies. - Ability to identify and utilize appropriate content streams - Preference for working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment - Inquisitive, internet savvy mind
