We have an immediate need for a Helpdesk Support Engineer.This is a full-time permanent position in the South Austin area.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

•Provide support to customers and maintain a record of each incident.Identify when a problem is in need of the next level of support.
•Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming calls, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from customers experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
•Interview customers to collect information about problems and lead customers through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
•Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for routine customer problems.Refer complex problems to appropriate technical staff.
•Log and track calls using problem management database.Maintain historical records and related problem documentation.
•Consult with programmers to explain software errors or recommend changes to programs.
•Perform all installs, moves, adds and changes required for desktop support.
•Repair computer, printer, and peripheral, including diagnosis of system malfunctions, development of cost estimate of repair; apply most cost-effective solution to repair system malfunctions.
•Upgrade computer hardware, including memory, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, DVD drives, monitors, motherboards, processors, video cards, sound cards, network cards, and other special purpose cards.
•Install software or software upgrades, including Windows Operating Systems, system or device drivers, Microsoft Office, Web browsers, e-mail, anti-virus, accounting, customer contact, and most other general-purpose PC software packages.
•Provide desktop migration, deployment, and installation services.
•Integrate support from multiple manufacturers.
•Perform asset management (e.g., asset inventory, auditing and tracking, asset administration and reporting, and history and forecasting).
•Integrate and test desktop hardware and software.
