Hey thank you for clicking and reading. I know Austin is a large music scene with tons of opportunity.
--------------------- about the project: We're a relatively new four piece rock/pop/americana style band formed from a pre-established singer/songwriter base.
I moved to Austin nearly a year and a half ago and starting playing solo due to being solo. I'm way more into a band environment and find it more powerful, effective and just more fun to share in the experience.
I've had a great time meeting, jamming and hanging out with the other great Austin musicians. The bassist (Matt) and guitarist (Ben) are independently passionate and experienced guys and we all share certain commonalities that brought us togetherfast. -------------------
Right now we're currently working on new fullband material and playing full band shows with a few great drummer friends. Two of the dudes are great drummers butare already in established projects. If you're an Austinite and familiar with these cats Rob Hooper (Guy Forstyth) and Dustin Hall (Eleven Fingered Charlie). We're trying to maintain momentum and plan to start tracking a new record to further pursue opportunities very soon. Ideally we'd love to find our drummer for upcoming shows and the record.
influences or common sounds: closest to Pete Yorn, Graham Colton, little less pop than Landon Pigg, The Format, absolutely in love with but more pop/accessible than Wilco
------------------- what we'd love to find: A passionate/experienced musician with independent drive that genuinely digs the material/direction.
From a sound standpoint a great drummer can really take a band from "pretty cool" to "amazing". A drummer with wide dynamic range and genre ability and a solid balance of tempo and feel can't be beat. It seems in the same way a strong expressive committed band member with natural commonality brings it all together and makes a tighter band.
Of course we try to make money and are concerned with gear, experience, availability, commitment, dependability, performance, vibe/look but all that stuff falls into place with driven serious musicians. We'd like to find commonality based on it.
